Water is one of the most affected commodities by the effects of climate change due to high temperatures and prolongs droughts. Water points and sources are disappearing making it difficult for the Baka and Mbororo indigenous people to access clean water due to the fact that the remaining water points is a scramble area for humans and animals making the water dirty and not fit for human intake. Even if they carry the water it necessitates boiling and filtering to reduce the presence of bacteria. Women and girls constitute the most vulnerable group when it comes to water crisis.
Lelewal opted to construct modern boreholes to give clean water to these communities at their door steps to reduce the family workload for women and girls and also to reduce waterborne diseases. The organization has an aim of constructing many boreholes in those communities proving the neediest in the coming years to roll back water within indigenous people communities.
